President’s Day, the day of the year everyone uses Mount Rushmore in their ads. But in South Dakota, Mount Rushmore is a part of us all year round. So this year we decided to join in on the fun, and have a blowout President’s Day event in the spirit of a mattress or car sale. Our design for the event and the surrounding promotion was inspired by these kinds of sales—over the top, loud, and fun.

We created a landing page, wall graphics, fake South Dakota money for the prize machine, social posts and tons of posters and swag.

Sold on south Dakota’s president’s day campaign generated more than 17 million impressions, resulting in nearly 20,000 travel bookings in the state as a result. The activation alone drew almost 100,000 people to a mall in iowa. Not bad.
